My uncle set it up perfectly, telling us and all the Nigerian relatives that the wedding stared at 12pm noon. So we get there relatively early around 3:30pm, but the church is pretty much empty except for some white ppl who were told the wedding started at 4:30.....

Everybody shows up about 5PM, and everything goes as scheduled

This is a condensed version of the Nigerian constitution.
Even in death, unlike other cultures that bury their dead in a manner of days, some families wait months to bury their dead.

LATE COMMERS. Late to school, late to leave....
I have some stories to share concerning the issue of BEING LATE.
You see when we were in Primary school, we used to be known for being at least 2 hours late for school and we used to be known for been the only guys left standing after others have left. schoo.

You see, our Dad has this habit of talk on the phone and waisting precious time talking to so called friends, while other parents have dropped their children off to school.

As a result, we end up comming an hour after school assemble. To make matters worst, the teachers will now turn all their frustation and have us clean the school compund and cut the grass. In the worst case scenario, this teachers will personally beat us insult us, and add more punishment.

When school is over in the afternoon, be ready to stay atleast 2 hours. God forbid if there was child molester or a kidnapper in the neigborhood, I won't be where i am today .You see our Dad has this habit of forgetting that he actaully has children. He is either away from town or at the same friends house....But, we end up going home, whenever Dad decides it time.

<a href="http://www.stuffnigerianpeoplelike.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/kola.JPG" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://www.stuffnigerianpeoplelike.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/kola.JPG" alt="Me at School" width="360" height="270"/></a>

I no go forget primary school days...

After a couple of "late arrivals" to important events by some of my friends, I got hip to it, so I learned to improvise, if there is an event that starts at 7pm, I just lie and tell them it starts at 2pm.. that way they will be close to comming on time ;)

[...] The ‘Ghana Must Go’ is used to carry many things like clothing, stock fish, goat meat, shoes, kitchenware, leaflets, DJ supplies, car parts, illegally imported spices and whatever else you can fit in there. Go to any international airport, you will probably see a section of Nigerians quickly emptying out their Ghana Must Go because they have exceeded the fifty pound weight limit. (If only they had been on time, they would have had time to carefully seperate their things in a logi...) [...]
